1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using GetJoyBox ("we", "us", "our", available at getjoybox.com), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. Description of Service

GetJoyBox is a free gift registry platform that lets users create and share wish lists for baby showers, birthdays, weddings, and other celebrations. Registries can be shared publicly via a unique link. Guests may view registries and mark items as claimed without creating an account.

3. User Accounts

You must create an account to build a registry. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in abusive behaviour, or attempt to misuse the platform.

4. Registry Content

You are solely responsible for the content of your registry, including item names, descriptions, links, and images. You agree not to include content that is illegal, misleading, harassing, or infringes on third-party intellectual property.

GetJoyBox does not facilitate payments or purchases — all transactions occur directly between you and third-party retailers. We are not responsible for the availability, pricing, accuracy, or delivery of any product listed on a registry.

5. Affiliate Disclosure

GetJoyBox participates in the Amazon Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means to earn fees by linking to Amazon.ca and affiliated sites. As an Amazon Associate, GetJoyBox earns from qualifying purchases made through affiliate links on this site — at no additional cost to you.

Affiliate links may also appear in our Registry Guides (blog content). Product recommendations are selected editorially and independently — affiliate commissions never influence which products we recommend.

6. Privacy

GetJoyBox collects your email address and basic account information to provide the service. Registry data (items, quantities, and purchase status) is stored securely in Google Firestore. Public registries are accessible to anyone with the link — do not include sensitive personal information in public registry fields.

We use Firebase Analytics for aggregate usage data. We do not sell your personal information to third parties. For questions about your data, contact us at hello@getjoybox.com.

7. Intellectual Property

All original content on GetJoyBox — including guides, editorial copy, and the platform design — is owned by GetJoyBox. You retain ownership of content you create (registry names, item descriptions). By using the service, you grant GetJoyBox a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display your registry content to the guests you share it with.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

GetJoyBox is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, data accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose. Use the service at your own risk.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, GetJoyBox and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including lost data, failed registry sharing, or third-party purchase issues.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We will update the "Last updated" date above when changes are made.
